About us

HISTORICAL BACKGROUND

The Mission was inaugurated in the United States of America (USA), by the Imam Hassan Cisse (RTA) in 1988 with the name: African American Islamic Institute (AAII) but widely known as Muassasat Nasrul Ilm in Africa. It’s website was initially www.aaii.info and now www.nasrulilmamerica.org

Through this Mission, Allah made fat’hi (i.e opening) of America to Islam through Imam Hassan, that from his hand many Americans became Muslims and through his School, the first American child to memorize the entire Qur’an was recorded (Allahu Akbar).

The Muassasah Mission had been on ground in the South West Geo-Political Zone and other parts of Nigeria since the late 80s and the Organisation was growing with Executives appointed all levels raging from National, State and Branch Chapters.

It was a great pleasure to welcome Imam Hassan Cisse (RTA) to the Organisation’s Conference that was held at Federal Palace Hotel in 2004. In His speech, Imam Hassan (RTA) said “The name I have chosen for this mission is “Nasrul Ilm”. An organization established by my grandfather, Sheikh Ibrahim (RTA) in 1940. In a letter he wrote to me; he said, “I will be handing over this organization to you and I call on all Muslims from Africa to India (i.e. across the globe) to be part of this success. I (Sheikh Ibraheem) am the president of this organization and Sayyid Alli Cisse (RTA) is the Secretary General. All male should participate with two dirham and female with one dirham to gather our funds together for the actualization of this mission…”

While responding to the economic challenges facing Muassasah and her members in Nigeria as illustrated by the spokesman of the foundation at the event, the Imam said “We shouldn’t always complain we don’t have money because as Muslims, we can achieve this mission by coming and working together as a group. Contribute the little you have together and soon will it become big then you can achieve your mission. If you make effort, Allah will help you, and don’t forget that we are doing all these for Allah and Allah alone. Be for Allah and be together, Allah will be for you.”

We all need support through the most important period of our children: the early years

Muassasat Nasrul Ilm Tahfiz School
The Tahfiz Qur’an School was initially setup as a summer-based school, which operated during the Summer Holidays only. It eventually metamorphosed into a full blown Tahfiz-Qur’an school which now runs throughout the year.
